Some girls may want to be good at multiple sports. For those who want to be great at one sport, this league will provide the opportunity to do so in softball. JGSL is here to teach Fulton / Montgomery area girls the fundamentals of softball correctly and help them become the best they can be. To be great at anything a player must practice year round and have accessability to good coaching. JGSL will provide that platform  to any F/M area girls if they are willing to put in the time and have a good attitude.

RULES:

1  - You must have good sportswomanship at all times!

2   -  PRACTICE   PRACTICE   PRACTICE !!!!!!!!

2.5 - In my world good defensive players are abundant, THE LINE UP IS BASED ON YOUR BAT! ALWAYS PRACTICE ON YOUR BATTING SKILLS!

3   -  PARENTS, LET THE COACHE'S DO THIER JOB AND DO NOT INCITE THE OTHER TEAMS! IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE COACHES DECISIONS FROM EITHER TEAM, SCHEDULES OR ANY OTHER PROBLEM, TALK TO US AFTER THE GAME OR THE NEXT DAY. EMOTIONS CAN RUN HIGH DURING A GAME AND I FIND IT AN INAPROPRIATE TIME TO DISCUSS SUCH ISSUES.

4  - There is no place in an atheletes life for drugs, alcohol or tobaco in any form. This league will suspend any players found to be using any of these items.

5  - In every game, one team will win and one will lose. Players and parents need to be good sports when we win and when we lose.

6   - While the league does  not have a written code of conduct, each player found to be in violation of rule #4 will be given one warning. If the violation occurs again, the player will be removed from the team for the remainder of the year.

We are not a part of Johnstown Little League or the GREATER Johnstown School District we are mearly based in Johnstown, hence we gave the league its name. On occasion, we do use their facillities. The MOHAWK VALLEY THUNDER is a collection of above average players (maybe) from around the Fulton - Montgomery County area, offering girls play at a higher level than rec. The rec teams will play in June and July. The Mohawk Valley Thunder travel teams will play Summer, Fall and Winter schedules for a total of around 50 - 60 games per year. We may overlap schedules a week or two in June. We encourage all the girls in the F/M/H area to play both leagues if possible. Get as much valuable playing time possible. Nothing can replace game situation experience. See ya soon!
