DECEMBER 26 I am opening the Winter League to any high school softball players that are interested in playing at the Dome in Glens Falls, 1 game per week for 8 weeks over January and February. The cost for 8 games is $1355.00 or approx $123 per player for the 11 players needed. You will also have to register ($10) for insurance at the dome or online. The first game is the 6th or 7th of January, I need a verbal commitment ASAP and payment by Wednesday Jan. 4th. If I do not get enough sign ups I will return your payment in full by Jan 10th.

DECEMBER 26 sign-up commitment to date: Lindsay A, Marybeth D,   Ashley M.

DECEMBER 26 The league has come to a turning point as of 2012.  Several factors have helped me decide that I will no longer pursue Tournament Play in the 18U division in 2012. The first item is that I have been chosen to be the next Varsity Softball Coach at Gloversville High School. This is a big commitment as I have to oversee the entire softball program and this requires alot of time . Second, I have a 8 year old daughter that I will be spending more time with this year as she is now eligible for travel ball. Third, my eldest daughter is graduating and moving on to other things. I will continue to be involved in softball over the summer but for now I have not decided at what age group or if I will stay local and just work with the Adirondack league. I hope that everyone accepts my departure but it was time. Thanks for the memories.

PITCHERS....

Pitchers must practice year round. Don't tell me in the Spring you were not warned. If you plan on leading your High School team to victory in the future, you better get moving. Anyone can pitch at modified. The JV & Varsity is where the girls who practice year round shine thru the one's that don't. If you fail to work at it in the off season, you will end up like the pitchers who couldn't get a win for so many years. Johnstown High School's Varsity didn't lose 50+ games in a row because the pitching was great. All you need to do is get serious and just do it. A half hour each practice is all you need to make your arm build muscle memory at least three days per week. Be dedicated to the sport and give me a call. I will help you get to the next level. Coach Bump

7-17-09 Any players ages 5-12, interested in becoming a pitcher, contact me, Coach Bump. I will disscus pitching with you and asses your skills. Be advised, to become a GOOD pitcher and the ability to throw multiple pitches properly, you will need to be dedicated to pitch practice at a minimum of three days a week, and follow a strict regiment. If you do so, I will assure you that the abilitiy to pitch well will come. If you are older than 12 with not much pitching experience this is probably not for you. You will have too much learning to make up without total dedication to the art of pitching, but let me see you pitch before you give up. For the girls who think that pitching only a few days during the off season , then eight months after the school season is over,  that magicly your arm is going to be better and develope new pitches all by itself your mistaken. I gaurantee that you won't get far and will not be asked to pitch at the varsity or college level by college coaches. Do not be affraid to try somthing new, you could have a hidden talent. Please contact me ASAP, learning to pitch takes time.

If anyone wants me to come to do a FREE one on one practice to help them get better at any part of the game, give me a call and I will try to arrange something or meet you somewhere.

These tournaments cost me $400.00+ in advance, winter tourneys are $640. We will be in 8-10 tournaments* per team over the year. The cost is too much for me not to pass some of this on to the players. Players for travel will also have to pay for the uniform cost (around $50), a team fee for the year $270.00, $13 for ASA registration and a $20.00 tournament fee at the beginning of each tournament.  If you can't afford the fee, ask me as to how we can work around it. We don't want to lose a good player over fees. Coach Bump

* tournaments are held on weekends and teams play a minimum of four games. Once eliminations start on Sundays, your team may play up to a total of 8 games depending on how far the team makes it. Tournament winners usually play 7  games by tournaments end.
